Holly Rader & Carol Smith-Sloan, friends for 15 years, decided it was time to bring together their individual unique artistic abilities to form a company dedicated to serving their clients, who valued their respective taste, beauty, style and of course, humor. Holly and Carol both wanted to work together producing fun, but functional products. They felt that how one decorates their home, and what one finds enjoyable to be surrounded by in their home is the ultimate expression of identity and personality. We set out to achieve this in September 2001 and are very proud of our work today.

Our technique, a centuries old folk art known as "pique assiette" (a French term which translates stolen from the plate) is a "no-boundaries", improvisational art form. The basic process is to utilize broken "bits n’ pieces" of pottery, either on a modest or grand scale, on any type of base to create a totally new surface. We’re breathing new life into producing truly original creations with overtones of the past, limited only by your imagination! What a wonderful way to put your signature on a piece.

By arranging carefully chosen shards, Holly and Carol create a truly one-of-a-kind work of art. They scour "hither and yon" for sources from antique shops to tag sales to flea markets to beaches to acquire just the right pieces for their collections; believing the more colors and sculputural elements they collect, the more to choose from to enhance their creations. The treasure hunts are endless.
